Supply and fix of "Peterlo 2000" slates size 305 x 280mm or other, blue/black slate, at approx 225mm c.c. Supply and fix of two layers of 500mm B&H GV-E10 reinforced Elastomeric (polymer modified bitumen) waterproofing membrane to form a triple layer with the slate above. Supply and fix of one extra 280x50mm strip of bituminous membrane under each slate joint to protect the bituminous membrane from the ultra violet rays of the sun. Each slate to be fastened with alu/alloy nails. Hips and ridges to be covered with a saddle type finish and laid dry. |

Supply and fix of Conventional slates size 355 x 280mm or other at 140mm c.c. including all raking, cutting and waste, each slate to form a double layer with the slate above and each slate to be fastened with alu / alloy clout nails. Hips and ridges to be covered with a saddle type finish and laid dry with two layers of B&H GV-E10 reinforced Elastomeric (polymer modified bitumen) waterproofing membrane. |

Supply and fix of ALPKLIP MIDI size 300 mm x random width at 225 mm c.c. colour Blue-Grey, Multi, Sandstone or Rustic.
Supply and fix of two layers of 500 mm B&H GV-E10 reinforced Elastomeric (polymer modified bitumen) waterproofing membrane to form a triple layer with the slate above.
Each slate to be double nailed with alu/alloy nails of a suitable length including raking, cutting and waste. Hips and ridges to be covered with a saddle type finish and laid dry. |

For areas frequented by storms.
Supply and fix of 1.6mm G.I. wire strapping at approx 380mm c.c. to prevent the lower layer of bituminous membrane from sagging between the battens.
Supply and fix of PETERLO STORMKAP slates size 305 x 280 mm or other at 225mm c.c. colour slate, including supply and fix of two layers of 500 mm B&H GV-E10 reinforced Elastomeric (polymer modified bitumen) waterproofing membrane to form a triple layer with the slate above.
Supply and fix of one Stormkap aluminium soaker 265x32x0.25mm under each slate joint, to protect the bituminous membrane from the ultra violet rays of the sun.
Each slate to be fastened with one only aluminium rivet as well as two alu/alloy nails, including raking, cutting and waste. Hips and ridges to be covered with a saddle type finish and laid dry. |

Supply and fix of two layers of 450 mm B&H GV-E10 reinforced Elastomeric (polymer modified bitumen) waterproofing membrane to form a triple layer with the slate above.
Supply and fix of one extra 280x50mm strip of bituminous membrane under each slate joint, to protect the bituminous membrane from the ultra violet rays of the sun.
For 17° pitch and up each slate to be fastened with alu/alloy nails, for below 17° pitch each slate to be secured with bituminous adhesive. Hips and ridges to be covered with a saddle type finish and laid dry.
The first Peterlo roof was erected in February 1960 in Claremont by H.P Plum & Co (Pty) Ltd in accordance with patented innovation by Peter Plum. This first roof at the time of writing is still intact. |
